Maple Leaf Floor Pouf

It’s no wonder versatile floor poufs are a hot trend — they serve double duty as foot stools and extra seating. Durable Krylon® ColorMaster™ holds up, no matter how you use your pouf.

General Supplies

  • Painters drop cloth
  • Bean bag filler
  • Sewing machine
  • Painter’s tape
  • Newspaper
  • Stencil film or vinyl
  • Straight pins
  1. Cut from canvas: Two circles, 23” in diameter, and a 13” x 73” rectangle.
  2. Cut the stencil film or vinyl with desired image. (For this project, the designer cut several maple leaves from vinyl and adhered them in a random design to the canvas.)
  3. Mask off all areas you do not want painted with tape and newspaper.
  4. Spray some of the maple leaves with Krylon® ColorMaster™ in Coral Isle.
  5. Allow to dry and then add more coats as necessary. Let dry.
  6. Mask off the painted leaves and reveal different leaves.
  7. Paint with Krylon® ColorMaster™ in Hunter Green. Reapply as needed. Let dry.
  8. Mask off the painted leaves and reveal the remaining maple leaves.
  9. Paint with Krylon® ColorMaster™ in Boots Brown. Reapply as needed. Let dry.
  10. Carefully remove masking.
  11. Right sides together, stitch together the 13” edges of the canvas rectangle. Leave an opening in the center for adding filler.
  12. Pin the round ends onto the open ends of the tube, right sides together, and stitch.
  13. Turn right side out.
  14. Fill with desired amount of filler.
  15. Whip stitch the opening closed.

Designer’s Tip:

Make sure to use a new/sharp heavy weight needle in your machine for this project.
